Phone Cards – The Affordable Way To Communicate

By: Larry Stevens

For making international and domestic phone calls — phone cards are still the most versatile, convenient and easiest to use.  Plus the most important reason why phone cards are still extremely popular is that they are the least expensive calling method around.  Prepaid Phone Cards may be utilized for calling friends and relatives around the globe. Most of the time, the connections are quick, & dependable, no matter the location where one is calling. Furthermore, the voice quality is superior.  And that is why consumers keep using them.

Most phone cards have a predetermined amount of money on the card.  Not too long ago the average face amount on a Phone Card was $20.  Now the average is $2.  Some people even use a phone card as a way to keep within a budget.  Meaning, they buy a $2 card, call their friend or relative —and talk until the money runs out.  All this at considerable cost savings vrs the other calling methods.  So without a large investment a person can talk for a long time at extremely cheap rates.  Prepaid Phone cards might also be either rechargeable or disposable in character. Based upon the benefit, it’s desirable to go for any one of these easy two options.

You can either purchase a phone card for cash or use a credit card.  They contain a unique PIN printed in it, plus an access number for the consumer to call in order to access the system.  They call the number, enter the PIN, enter their desired destination – and then are told the amount of minutes they can speak for to that particular destination.   Phone cards can be used for local, national, and worldwide calls.

Based upon the calling requirement, consumers can avail the pre-designated worldwide voip phone cards, quite quickly from just about anywhere in the world, ie: airports, convenience stores, gas stations, etc.  Most phone cards contain a variety of functions like speed-dial, call conferencing, call waiting and much more.
The phone cards are sometimes referred to as stored value cards.  This is due to the fact that the cards have a certain amount of money stored on the card to make calls.  At anytime, the customer can either call a phone number or use one of the many features or simply call in to see how much balance they have left on the card.

When shopping for a phone card to use, customers will quickly realize that there is an enormous amount of cards in the marketplace or call shops to choose from.  One should focus on the key elements before the purchase – like calling rates, re-changeability, hidden costs and quality of calls.  Most importantly, one should choose a company that has been in the phone card business for at least 5 years.
